Hi, I’m Iren Pavlenko, and this is a site about one pot and the instructions it usually comes with.
It started with a roast that fell apart on the fork and still tasted like dry string. The recipe was not wrong. It just never said that a lean cut has nothing in it to melt, that eight hours will not fix that, or what size pot the eight hours were measured in. So I went looking for the recipe that did say it — and found that most of them do not.
That is the work this site does. For every dish, I pull the recipes that rank at the top for it, read them side by side, and write down what they disagree about and what they all leave out. Then the page says the thing the sources would not commit to: which cut, which setting, how many hours, and what it looks like when it goes wrong.
What You’ll Find Here
Iren Pins covers slow cooker cooking end to end: weeknight dinners you can assemble in ten minutes before you leave, chicken and beef and pork by cut, soups and chilis, freezer meals you build once and eat for a month, dips and party food, sides for the day the oven is full, and the Instant Pot conversions for the nights nothing got started.
How a Page Gets Written
Three rules. Nothing goes up until I have read the whole field for that dish and can say where the sources split — a page that only reworded one recipe has added nothing. Every page names the cut, the pot size and both settings in hours, because “cook until done” is not a time. And every page says what not to do, and what the failure looks like, because that is the part that saves the dinner.
I do not claim to have cooked every recipe here. What I claim is that the times, the cuts and the disagreements between sources have been read, counted and written down — and that where the field does not agree, this site tells you so instead of picking a number and hiding the rest.
How This Site Pays for Itself
Two ways, and neither changes what ends up on a page. The pages carry ads. Some equipment links — cookers, liners, freezer bags, a meat thermometer — are affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Equipment is named only where it changes the result, and the pages say when you do not need to buy anything at all. The full wording is on the affiliate disclosure page.
My Mission
Nobody should have to ruin a piece of meat twice to learn what one sentence could have told them. If you read a page here in the morning and eat well at six, the site did its job.
New pages go up on Pinterest first. If a timing here did not hold in your cooker, tell me which pot and which setting — that is how the numbers get better.
