How Pages Get Published Here
Every page on Iren Pins starts with the same work: the recipes ranking at the top for that dish are read side by side, and their cuts, times, settings and pot sizes are recorded. The page is written from what that comparison shows — where the sources agree, where they split, and what none of them state. A page that only rewords one existing recipe does not get published.
What Every Page Has to Say
Three things are non-negotiable: which cut the timing assumes, both settings with hours and the pot size they were written for, and at least one thing not to do — the step where the dish usually goes wrong. If a page cannot state all three, it is not finished.
Where the Numbers Come From
Times on this site are the reconciled range from the published field, narrowed by what the cut can physically do, not a number invented for the page. Where the sources disagree — and on cook times they frequently do, by several hours — the page says so and explains which end of the range applies to which cut and pot. Reader reports of a timing that did not hold are treated as evidence and change the page.
Your Cooker Is Not the Reference Cooker
Newer slow cookers run hotter on LOW than older ones, and a 4-quart pot behaves differently from an 8-quart with the same food in it. Unless stated otherwise, times here assume a 6-quart pot filled between half and three-quarters. They are a starting point, not a law, and where the difference matters the page says so.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing is recommended because it pays better, and equipment is named only where it changes the outcome of the dish.
Update Policy
Pages carry a visible last-updated date. They are revised when the advice itself changes — a better cut, a corrected time, a reader who found the failure case — not on a schedule.
